Visit Redwings Ada Cole Rescue Centre and meet over 40 very special horses, ponies, donkeys, mules, five of whom are available for adoption!  There is an Information Centre and Gift Shop where you can purchase gifts or learn more about their equine welfare work and horsey residents.

Epping Forest

Epping Forest is the largest public open space in the London area, at almost 6,000 acres. It stretches 12 miles from Manor Park in East London to just north of Epping in Essex. As well as being a popular area for recreation and enjoyment it is also of national and international conservation importance with two thirds of it being designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation.

Epping Forest District Museum

The Museum tells the story of the people who have lived and worked in this part of south Essex from the earliest inhabitants to the present. Based in historic Waltham Abbey, in a building dating back to 1520, the Museum offers something for all the family, with plenty of gallery trails and hands on activities for children.

North Weald Airfield Museum and Memorial

North Weald Airfield Museum is situated at what was the main entrance of the famous Battle of Britain Fighter base - RAF North Weald, near to the Essex town of Epping and easily accessible from London. Adjacent to the still very active airfield, from which on most summer week-ends visitors may see some of the veteran and classic aircraft based on the airfield, such as; the Spitfire, Mustang, Invader, Vampire, Hunter, Dakotas, Yaks and Jet Provosts, land and take- off.

Royal Gunpowder Mills

Set in 175 acres of natural parkland and boasting 21 buildings of major historic importance, the site mixes fascinating history, exciting science and beautiful surroundings to produce a magical day out for all.
